The mission of the Siskiyou County Arts Council is to integrate our dynamic arts community into the daily lives of residents and visitors.

Because Art Matters!

The Siskiyou County Arts Council believes that the arts are a societal cornerstone that bring people together, build community and have a direct impact on the health, welfare, and economic well being of all.  Arts education is an essential tool for healthy human development: facilitating creative and critical thinking, cultivating observational skills, increasing self-esteem and providing healthy outlets for expression. Art provides us with an understanding of our culture and history, along with tools for exploring and confronting our present reality. Art empowers us in creating new future possibilities, as it holds the potential to transform, inform, engage and inspire.
