Anne Mullenniex

Anne Mullenniex is a multi-disciplinary artist and maker of things. After nearly two decades in academia studying science, she realized she needed to make art. With degrees in Biology, a passion for nature, and a lifetime of freehand drawing experience but no formal art education she found herself immersed in art at the Grunewald Guild in the Cascades of Washington state. There she studied techniques and worked with multiple media for four years as an ongoing artist resident and staff, influenced by a community of artists representing myriad disciplines, including the late Richard Caemmerer, Jr. Her pen-and-ink drawings and clay sculptures embrace the beauty of imperfection in the minutiae of forest floor ‘debris’ or beach flotsam of the Pacific Northwest while her glass mosaics, mixed media, and acrylic paintings celebrate nature or probe the journey of healing after trauma and loss.
