Corrections
“Demonstration projects in both state and county jails have shown that arts programs improve the participants’ confidence, communication skills and emotional management, while resulting in better relations with other inmates and staff.” – California Lawyers for the Arts.
With support from the California Arts Council, California Lawyers for the Arts, and the County of Siskiyou, the Siskiyou County Arts Council provided arts in corrections programming at the Yreka Day Reporting Center, Siskiyou County Jail, and the Charlie Byrd Youth Correctional Center.
