Siskiyou County Arts Council Receives Donation From Pacific Power Foundation
The Pacific Power Foundation has awarded the Siskiyou County Arts Council, headquartered in Mount Shasta and serving all of Siskiyou County, a grant in the amount of $2,500 to assist cultivating strong and creative communities in Siskiyou County.
Specifically, “this grant will support the Art DROP pilot program, a pilot version of our newest program to place free art supply stations in remote communities in Siskiyou,” said Executive Director, Patricia Lord. “Based on the ‘little free library’ model, Art DROP supply stations will provide a fun, free, and accessible space to share and discover art supplies and projects. Rolling out in our more remote communities first, Art DROP stations will be an invaluable asset in areas that have significantly lower regular access to art supplies. Decorated by local artists, the Art DROP stations will be public works of art in and of themselves and serve as visual reminders that creativity is for everyone.”
“We are pleased to support the Siskiyou County Arts Council with this donation from our Foundation,” said Todd Andres, Pacific Power Regional Business Manager. “The Pacific Power Foundation is committed to strengthening the vitality of our communities through such grants.”
Information about the pilot Art DROP program, including the request for proposals to decorate a DROP station, sign-up to host a DROP station or serve as an Art DROP ambassador, can be found on the Siskiyou County Arts Council website, Facebook, and other social media pages.
